Brennley Brown Delivers Christmas Classic Performance Of ‘River’ By Joni Mitchell On The Voice

Brennley Brown took a Christmas classic and made it her own with a strong performance of "River" by Joni Mitchell.

On The Voice, Adam Levine said that he is so happy that she is with Gwen Stefani. Adam said it is nice that is someone who thinks outside the box. Adam commented that the song is not typically done by a country singer. He found it a refreshing originality in her performance.

Gwen did not even know how to get all her thoughts ready. Gwen was so excited about Brennley. She could not believe how Brennley could challenge such a deep song from Joni Mitchell.

What did you think of the performance? Let us know in the comments section.

Brennley grew up listening to country music and performing in school talent shows. Her signature move was throwing her pink cowgirl hat into the audience at shows. She recently was cast as Lily on the animated show "Sofia the First." For two years, starting at age three, she watched her mother go in and out of hospitals before she was diagnosed with Lyme carditis, which has no cure. Music helped Brennley cope with her mother's diagnosis. Her dad owns a hair salon where she spends her spare time when she's not gigging, doing voiceover work or homework!

The Voice Social Media Reactions

The three-time Emmy Award-winning "The Voice" returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show's new season. Grammy Award-winning artist Gwen Stefani returns as a coach this season, joining megastars Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and host Carson Daly.

The show's innovative format features five stages of competition: the first begins with the blind auditions, followed by the battle rounds, the knockouts, the live playoffs and, finally, the live performance shows.

In the final live-performance phase of the competition, the Top 12 artists compete each week against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience votes to save their favorite artists. The three artists with the lowest number of votes are eligible for the "Instant Save." These artists each perform a new song that represents why they should earn the save. Then, America has the opportunity to save their favorite performer by tweeting #VoiceSave along with the artist's name. The singers with the lowest number of votes are sent home each week. In the end, one is named "The Voice" and receives the grand prize of a recording contract.
